Both jobs are difficult and good communication is key. ![]() ![]() However, the person facing upstairs has to carry more weight. One person should walk backward upstairs, which is difficult. For properly wrapped and packaged furniture, take your time moving upstairs.įor heavy items, take your time. Remove drawers from dressers (and carry them up – loaded with light items or clothes). Heavy items like couches or tables should be pared down as much as possible. This is where having friends or family to help comes in handy. But when you run into 4+ flights of stairs, it might be wise to do a “bucket brigade” style move, where you run boxes up a few stairs before setting it down and returning for a different item. Some places have special rules for moving in and parking.įor boxes or bins, it’s pretty straightforward – just go up the stairs until you’re out of boxes. Talk to your new landlord to check about parking and double-parking regulations to make sure you stay out of trouble. Avoid peak traffic times – whenever that is for your area. To be efficient with your move-in process, start either early in the day or later in the evening. Walk-up apartments are typically on busy streets or crowded side streets. Pack your truck considering where you’ll place fragile items, large mattresses, and boxed art. Think about which items you want to move in first, and place them near the back of the truck. Cover dressers with moving blankets and stack light boxes on top. The rule of thumb for truck loading is to place solid, heavy items near the front of the truck. Some people give small presents, gift cards, or small cash “thank you” at the end of the move. Depending on your relationship dynamic, offer a meal or drink at the very least. Of course, getting family and friends to move heavy furniture should be rewarded somehow. This way, you won’t burn out constantly going up 3+ flights of stairs. More people can also make stairway-relays easier. Having a third person is useful for providing directions when going up stairways, unloading the truck while two people head upstairs. If you’re enlisting the help of friends and family, try to have at least three people (including yourself). Many labor-only movers will charge by the floor in addition to the standard hourly rate – so keep that in mind. Even if you choose to move everything but the furniture, a few good movers paid by the hour can save you time and energy. If you can afford it, this is a great option. The easiest way to move is to hire movers. Most studio or 1-bedroom walk-up apartments can fit into a 12’ moving truck (unless you have a LOT of things). Budget Rental Trucks and U-haul both have good rates and easy-to-understand guidelines to get the right vehicle for your move. There are many quality truck and van rental companies that can make life easier. When loading and unloading for a DIY move, it’s important that you have the right rental vehicle. You don’t want to take ten trips with handfuls of lightweight, bulky items. If it’s possible to pack pillows and blankets into a good-sized box, then do it. But don’t sacrifice weight for efficiency. Try to keep boxes light (no 50-pound book boxes, please). If you haven’t packed up your old place anticipating a walk-up move, then you’re in for a tough move-in. How to Move into a Walk-up Apartment Without an Elevator Pack Your Items For a Walk-up Let’s go through some basic moving tips to make your DIY walk-up move easier. These buildings, known as “walk-up apartments” or simply “walk-ups” present unique challenges when you move in or out. Whether you’re in New York or Chicago – Seattle or San Francisco, there’s a real possibility that you might move into an apartment without an elevator. It can also be a tough adjustment for some people – especially when they move into an older apartment in the city. When times are good, cities provide unmatched access to work, good food, and entertainment.

Get moving average for a the last N days / weeks / months/ years in a column Remembering that an average is computed by adding up values and then dividing the sum by the number of values to be averaged, you can verify the result by using the SUM formula: You can fix the column with an absolute reference (like $B2) if you want to, but be sure to use relative row references (without the $ sign) so that the formula adjusts properly for other cells. Write a usual AVERAGE formula for the first 3 values and input it in the row corresponding to the 3 rd value from the top (cell C4 in this example), and then copy the formula down to other cells in the column: ![]() Supposing you have a list of average monthly temperatures in column B, and you want to find a moving average for 3 months (as shown in the image above). Calculate moving average for a certain time periodĪ simple moving average can be calculated in no time with the AVERAGE function. The following examples demonstrate both techniques. Overall, there are two ways to get a simple moving average in Excel - by using formulas and trendline options. In this tutorial, we will be looking into the most commonly used simple moving average.Ĭalculating simple moving average in Excel There exist different types of moving average such as simple (also known as arithmetic), exponential, variable, triangular, and weighted. In business, it's a common practice to calculate a moving average of sales for the last 3 months to determine the recent trend.įor example, the moving average of three-month temperatures can be calculated by taking the average of temperatures from January to March, then the average of temperatures from February to April, then of March to May, and so on. In stock trading, moving average is an indicator that shows the average value of a security over a given period of time. It is frequently used in statistics, seasonally-adjusted economic and weather forecasting to understand underlying trends. To add a new stock symbol to the Google Sheet, type the symbol in column A, then copy the formulas from previous rows.Generally speaking, moving average (also referred to as rolling average, running average or moving mean) can be defined as a series of averages for different subsets of the same data set. GET TEMPLATE Step 2: Add Stocks and Mutual Funds You can make a copy of that template and update it with your own list of stocks and mutual funds. We've created a Google Sheets template that uses the GOOGLEFINANCE function to display stock quotes. To do this, follow the steps below: Step 1: Start with a Google Sheets Template You can then import the data into Excel via a web query that uses the Google Sheet as the data source. After creating a table for the symbols that you want, you can publish the sheet as a web page (via File > Publish to the Web). ![]() ![]() The GOOGLEFINANCE function in Google Sheets allows you to get delayed quotes for stocks and mutual funds. If the table of stock quotes works, and can be refreshed via Data > Refresh All, you are good to go! To see if your version of Excel works with this new feature, download the above template. The new Stock data type makes it a piece of cake to get stock data into Excel. ![]() I experienced the problem after few hours after a reboot. ![]() It's hard to tell what was triggering the weird positioning behaviour. Was your issue the same as - connecting a monitor? It'll take me a while to get back to update Rectangle with a workaround, but I'll post back here when I I can still reproduce it with the same build of macOS using the on-screen keyboard, the only way that I could consistently reproduce it before. The absolute best scenario here is that Apple does fix it at some point :( It's also a bit painful to add the delay because it requires currently synchronous code to be updated to become asynchronous. There's kind of a way to automatically detect this happening, but it would add a decent amount of complexity to the code - so the simplest way to enable the delay would be via a setting. That means that when animated resize is enabled, window move/resize by Rectangle would be, well, slow. In order for Rectangle to workaround this bug, there would need to be delays built into each move/resize command sent to the accessibility API. Despite the accessibility API actually properly receiving the window move/resize commands, the animated resize will stop wherever it is when it receives another move/resize command. I was able to reproduce it consistently by having the macOS on-screen keyboard displayed. In the case of this issue, it's the external monitor being plugged in. So, I have looked at what it would take to get a Rectangle workaround up.īasically, the issue is that under certain circumstances, window resize animation is enabled for certain apps. I did submit my bug to Apple but I am going with the assumption that it will take a really long time before this gets fixed Apple side, if at all. Thanks! I'll report back when I get mine submitted and if I hear anything back. Of course, your description will probably look a little different since you might have other steps for reproducing it. ![]() I've also noted similar behavior with other apps of this kind, like Magnet. I am unaware of anything that could be done from a 3rd party perspective to correct this behavior. This behavior is external to the Rectangle app. In the first one, there's a gif that shows what the incorrect move/resize behavior looks like. Here are two GitHub issues that have been filed for it: This is currently an issue on macOS 10.15.3, and has been noted on previous versions of Catalina and previous versions of macOS. The typical, correct behavior is instantaneous and does not animate. ![]() When an app does not properly move/resize, the moving and resizing that it does exhibit has an animation to it, and it is not instantaneous.

If people are as interested in the subject as I am, I could probably do this again with the rest of his dialogue and/or Hraesvelgr + Tiamat.Īccording to Koji, the first brood heavily altered the language over the course of their interactions with each other, trimming out a lot of "unnecessary" words and making it heavily reliant on context and reading between the lines. Studying these lines was a lot of fun, though a tad bit annoying at times because Nidhogg's reverb can cause certain sounds to blend together. I've always found fictional languages in video games very interesting, especially if the words mean actual things instead of just being gibberish that's meant to sound alien. (Second sentence is more literally: "You held my spirit once.now hold it again!" Held could be interchangeable with something like housed, in this case.) (I have not forgotten thee, dragoon! Mine essence claimed thee once.and shall do so again!) (Note: Nell specifically refers to the Elezen). (Thou wouldst use mine own eye against me? Time hath done naught to dilute thy kind's depravity!) "Soohs an hessnesh ool an eiln in!? Nehk Nell y ahim!" Post-boss cutscene, Nidhogg attempts to divebomb the WoL but is interrupted by Estinien flashing him a second time, crash landing. As oohs means to use or wield something, while the added s at the beginning implies will or shall.) I'm not 100% confident in this one, but I believe the more literal translation would be something to the effect of "I shall wield my rage against you". However, the closest word to consume in dragonspeak is eehs, while the line clearly has an "oo" sound. (The provided line is "My rage will consume you!". In other words, "Be mine, vengeance!" or "Vengeance is mine!") (The given line is simply "Vengeance!", however N means be while An implies ownership by Nidhogg. So a more literal translation would simply be "Tremble!")įinal boss, halfway through casting Massacre: (The given line is "Tremble before my fury!", however the word na is used to emphasize a phrase as a command, while shah means to tremble or shake. (Wicked mortals! I shall melt thy flesh and see thy bones ash!)įinal boss, upon casting The Scarlet Price: The Aery opening cutscene, shortly after Estinien flashes Nidhogg with the eye: Below, I've listed every line Nidhogg says throughout the dungeon, when he says it, and the English dialogue given + a more literal translation if I feel it doesn't quite match for whatever reason. All of it lines up with the established rules and definitions perfectly, though the English lines in-game occasionally differ from the line in Dragonspeak. ![]() So I decided to use the Aery as a test to see if everything Nidhogg says is coherent, and it turns out that yes, they would in fact go through all that effort lmao. But surely, I thought, there's no way it's ALL real words? Right? They wouldn't go through all that effort when nobody would be able to tell the difference anyway, would they? Now, according to one of said posts, all voice acted Dragonspeak (Nidhogg, Tiamat and Hraesvelgr's dialogue) begins in Japanese, is translated to English, translated to dragon, and then read out loud by the language's creator so the voice actors know what to say. With DSU going on, a lot of people have been cracking jokes about how one of Nidhogg's voice lines sounds like "I am named Kyle." Out of curiosity, I decided to see if I could translate it, and it turns out you can! Using these two forum posts by the person responsible for creating the language, you can translate the line to "Ahm in lhein fhail", or "Thy final verse is sung."
